Anthony Dennis was arrested and charged in June 2018 with Class 1 felony delivery of between 5 and 15 grams of methamphetamine. He entered into a plea agreement Tuesday in exchange for the felony charge being reduced Class 3 felony charge of possessing less than 5 grams of meth.

Dennis was sentenced to 24-months probation for his guilty plea and ordered to pay more than $3,800 in fines and fees.

In June Mt. Vernon Police detectives contacted Dennis at his home in the 1000 block of South 23rd Street in Mt. Vernon. A search of the residence, specifically Dennis’ room within the home reportedly revealed quantities of meth packaged for sale, drug equipment, and money believed to be drug proceeds.

Other occupants of the home were not believed involved in the manufacture, sale, or use of meth. Dennis, however, was taken to the Jefferson County Jail.
