Donna Roddy, 91, of Salem, IL died peacefully on February 24, 2019 at the Salem Township Hospital. She was retired from Salem Township Hospital as a Medical Record Coder. She was a member of the Marion County Church of Christ. Always a hard working lady, she raised and loved her family, cooking for them, and also loved to collect cookbooks.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Wednesday at the Rankin Funeral Home in Salem. Burial will follow at the East Lawn Cemetery. Visiting hours will be from 11:00 a.m. until the service hour on Wednesday. The family suggest memorials in Donna’s memory be made to the Donor’s choice and will be received by the Rankin Funeral Home entrusted with the family’s care.

Surviving are her children, Bill Roddy of Odin, John (Rebecca) Roddy of Salem, Rick Roddy of Washington, D.C., and Teresa (Robert) Crouch of Salem, along with 13 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. She is also survived by a daughter-in-law, Anna Roddy of Germany, and her sister, Betty Miller of Brownstown, IL.

Born May 3, 1927 in Kinmundy, she was the daughter of Burdette G. and Alberta “Faye” (McClaine) Brasel. She married Joseph P. Roddy, June 16, 1947 in Morganfield, KY and he preceded her in death. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by sons Jimmy and Jack Roddy, daughter-in-law Becky Roddy, and great grandsons Brandon and Evan Roddy, and siblings Harry Brasel, Neal Brasel, Dale Brasel, Benny Brasel and Ada Ditton.
