BENTON — The city of Benton reminds its water and sewer customers that the city is in the middle of the process of changing out the meter reading system. This has resulted in some routes being estimated and some routes having more days than usual on their bill. This will be solved once all meters have been changed.

The city says with any change, issues pop up. The city is currently having some issues between the reading system and the billing system on a few accounts, as some customers have unfortunately experienced. Customers should not panic. Please call City Hall and let officials know if you are having any issues so they can be worked out.

The city’s billing clerk is working diligently to get the issues resolved as quickly as possible. The city appreciates its customers and their understanding during this time of transition from the old system to the new. The city believes this is going to be a positive move for citizens as well as for Benton.
