MT. VERNON — The Mt. Vernon Township High School District School Board has taken the first steps towards selling the old high school property on Mt. Vernon’s east side.

MVTHS Superintendent Jeff Fritchtnitch says the board voted 7-0 at their meeting last Tuesday to start work towards marketing the land and putting together the necessary team to sell the land where the original campus of Mt. Vernon Township High School once stood, along with the old baseball and football fields.

The district has completed additions to their new campus in recent months including a new storage building where items stored in the original campus are being moved too.
