MCLEANSBORO — The McLeansboro City Council Tuesday afternoon tabled the renewal of the intergovernmental agreement with the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office for central dispatch.

The council tabled it so that further discussion could take place on the cost of a new contract.

Concerning the city’s water tower project, Mark Epperson, with People’s National Bank, presented a proposal for financing the funding gap for the new water tower explaining that such temporary funding was expected and included as part of the USDA grant process. Action on the water tower project was tabled pending a report from Shawnee Engineering.

The council was also invited by Dale Biggerstaff to the Hamilton County Water District’s annual water conference on March 8 and stated that HCWD was still interested in having an emergency interconnect with the city’s water system.

In other business, the council passed a resolution to buy three parcels of land and external repairs to a wall for a Jackson Street TIF Development Project  in the amount of $30,000. The TIF reimbursement request of $1,738.89 by Bill Wuebbles of Wuebbles Repair and  Sales for a property located at 505 West Market Street was approved.

The council also approved the $6,000 annual contractual payment to Sam Wilson for I.T. Support. Robert Crow was also appointed as director of the DARE program for all Hamilton County Unit 10 schools. A motion for bids to be published for concessions at the city pool for the 2019 season was passed.
