ILLINOIS (RFD) — Record cold, more snow and temperature swings that felt like spring have already made for a wild first week-and-a-half of February but don’t sleep on those severe storms. That’s the message from the National Weather Service. Chris Miller with the Lincoln office indicates it is not uncommon for severe weather to pop up this early in the year.

The National Weather Service has indicated weather trends are pointing to a more seasonable and dry month of February.
