FAYETTE COUNTY — A 30-year-old Vandalia man who was the subject of a public manhunt late last year pleaded guilty Wednesday to multiple offenses and was sentenced to 4-years in prison.

Tyler Dean Cripe was wanted in December on an outstanding warrant for battery of a pregnant woman and violation of the sex offender registry.

The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office asked to the public for information on his whereabouts.

Cripe was soon found after the sheriff’s social media appeal and was taken to the Fayette County Jail where he has remained since that time.

He pleaded guilty Wednesday to one count of possession of methamphetamine and one count of aggravated battery and was sentenced to 48 months, to be served concurrent to another case in which the Cripe pleaded guilty to the offense of aggravated battery.
