MARION — The Marion Police Department Narcotics Unit arrested a man Thursday after an investigation revealed that he was involved in the distribution of crystal “ice” methamphetamine.

Police say they conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by 30-year-old Jacob R. Diefenbach. During that stop, police searched the vehicle and found Diefenbach to be in possession of suspected methamphetamine and a stun gun.

Diefenbach was placed under arrest, without incident, when the traffic stop was finished. He was taken to the Marion Police Department for further processing.

Narcotics Unit detectives then executed a search warrant at Diefenbach’s home in the 1300 block on North Van Buren Street in Marion. A search there revealed an additional quantity of methamphetamine, packaging material and drug paraphernalia.

Diefenbach was issued citations for three counts of delivery of methamphetamine, one count of possession of methamphetamine, unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon and endangering the welfare of a child.

Diefenbach was taken to the Williamson County Jail, where he awaits his first appearance.
