CENTRALIA — The Centralia Fire and Police Commission is taking applications for Police Officer.

Police Chief Brian Atchison says he would like to see a large pool of qualified applicants test for the two open positions of Probationary Police Officer within the Centralia Police Department.

Applicants must be 21-years-old at the time of appointment, age 35 or younger unless proof of employment as a full-time police officer or an auxiliary police officer for a minimum of 5 years and under the age of 40.

Applicants must also be a high school graduate or have a GED, and be a U.S. citizen. Additional restrictions will be discussed at an orientation meeting.

Applications may be picked up at the Centralia City Clerk’s Office at 101 South Locust, between 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. All applications must be returned to the same location no later than 4 p.m. Friday, March 22, 2019.

You may also download application packets online at city of Centralia dot org. All forms must be printed and returned by the March 22 deadline. No online submissions will be accepted.

A mandatory orientation meeting, physical ability test, and written test will all be held starting at 9 a.m. Saturday, April 6, 2019, at the Centralia Police Department at 222 South Poplar Street.
