MT. VERNON — The 8th Annual Mt. Vernon Fall Fest will be held September 27-29. This year’s theme is “Growth. Progress. Pride.” and will focus on Mt. Vernon and Jefferson County’s bicentennial. 2019 is both the city and county’s 200th birthday.

A 100+ entry parade, featuring a increasingly popular Marching Band Expo awarding $4,000 in prizes to regional school bands returns to Fall Fest at a new time of 1 p.m. on Saturday, September 28th.

This year, participants will build floats, decorate trailers, trucks & automobiles, gather families and friends, and develop impressive marching band routines all to the theme of “Growth. Progress. Pride.”.

Starting Friday at 5pm through Sunday at 5pm, entertainment at Fall Fest will return in full swing. Performers and the entertainment schedule will be announced soon.

The Kids Zone, Fall Fest 5K for Special Olympics, DMDC Cruise-In, Tri-State Treasure Hunt for Kids, Mt. Vernon Business Women’s Club “Great Pumpkin Contest”, food court, vendors, and the beer and wine tent are all on schedule to return in 2019 as well.
