JACKSON COUNTY — A Murphysboro man was sentenced Monday in Jackson County to the Illinois Department of Corrections for possessing methamphetamine.

Jackson County State’s Attorney Michael Carr says 25-year-old Cody J. Tindle pled guilty Monday to the charge of possession of 15 to 100 grams of methamphetamine – a Class 1 felony – and was sentenced to five years in IDOC followed by a two-year period of mandatory supervised release. Tindle is also currently on probation in Franklin County for possession of methamphetamine.

On Dec. 16, 2018, a Murphysboro police officer, while on patrol, recognized Tindle and knew him to have an active warrant for his arrest. A search of his person incident to arrest revealed 24 grams of meth.

The investigation was conducted by the Murphysboro Police Department.
