ILLINOIS (RFD) — The brutal cold can take a quick and deadly toll on your body. The Illinois Department of Public Health says you need to take the very real dangers of frostbite and hypothermia seriously. Hypothermia happens when your body temp drops to dangerous levels. IDPH’s Melaney Arnold says if you’re cold, shivering, confused or drowsy you need medical attention.
Frostbite needs to be treated with slowly warming the area affected and then seeking medical attention.
