Hazardous weather outlook includes subzero wind chills and near zero-lower single digit temps

ILLINOIS (WITHERS BROADCASTING) — Some of the coldest temperatures of the winter season are predicted this week in Illinois.

This hazardous weather outlook includes snowfall forecast for late this afternoon and evening which may produce a dusting.

Subzero wind chills are forecast late tonight, mainly along the Interstate 64 corridor of southern Illinois and southwest Indiana. Near zero to lower single digit wind chills are anticipated across the rest of the region.

Subzero wind chills are forecast for all or part of the region each morning Tuesday through Thursday.

Designated warming centers will be located throughout the state and are listed alphabetically, by county, at https://www2.illinois.gov/services/GOV/warming-center.

According to the Illinois Emergency Management Agency, there have been 664 cold-related deaths in Illinois over the last ten years from 2008 to 2017.
