MVPD detectives investigating homicide after man dies from weekend shooting

MOUNT VERNON — Mt. Vernon Police are reporting that a man shot over the weekend has died from his injuries.

According to earlier reports, around 5:37 p.m. Saturday, Mt. Vernon police officers responded along with the Mt. Vernon Fire Department and Litton’s Ambulance to the 2100 block of Perkins on a report of a shooting.

They found one shooting victim who was transported to the hospital where he later died from his injuries.

Detectives are now investigating the death as a homicide.

Mt. Vernon Police say no additional information is being released at this time.
