TAMMS, IL — A Tamms man was arrested Thursday on murder charges in relation to a deadly shooting that happened recently in Tamms.

Illinois State Police say the Alexander County State’s Attorney’s office has charged 36-year-old Johnny L. Warren with five counts of first-degree murder.

On January 11, 2019, the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department received a 911 call of a subject with a gunshot wound at a home in Tamms. Upon arrival, it was discovered that the victim, Stacy Carter-Gonzales, had succumbed to her injuries sustained from the wounds.

Warren is currently being held at Pulaski County Jail on a $1 million bond.

Assisting agencies include, Alexander County Sherriff’s Office, Cape Girardeau Missouri Police Department, and Missouri Highway Patrol.

The investigation is on-going. No other information is available at this time.
