National Weather Service says Illinois is colder than Alaska

ILLINOIS (RFD) — Dangerous wind chills have the Midwest bundled up as we head to the weekend and don’t plan on a reprieve according to the National Weather Service. Chris Miller with the National Weather Service says this prolonged cold will carry well into next week.

How cold is it going to be in the Midwest? Miller says it will be colder in Illinois than it will be in Alaska, although it’s not as bad as it sounds.

Miller notes it should be a little drier as we close out the month of January.
