MARION COUNTY — A 27-year-old Mt. Vernon man was charged Tuesday in Marion County court with two felony counts of being a felon in possession of a firearm after Centralia police arrested him Monday morning at the train depot.

According to Centralia police, James Lomax had a shotgun in his possession when officers made a warrant check on him at the Amtrak Station in Centralia.

He was arrested for alleged armed violence, unlawful possession of a weapon, unlawful possession of ammunition, and unlawful possession of a lookalike substance and was taken to the Marion County Jail where he remains awaiting the setting of bail.
