WASHINGTON COUNTY — A 26-year-old McKendree University student who was a student worker at Nashville Middle School recently has been arrested on Franklin County charges of grooming and distributing harmful material to a minor.

Superintendent Michael Brink and Principal Chuck Fairbanks stated that they have no reason to believe that anything inappropriate occurred at Nashville District 49 while Nicholas Price worked at the school
Price had been sent to the district to gain field experience at the school, from the start of the 2nd quarter until right before Christmas break.

Price was a Field Experience III student, who was present for one day per week throughout the 2nd quarter for one of the schools Eighth Grade math classes.

School officials want parents to know that if they have any questions or concerns in regard to this matter, they should get in contact with either of them at the school.  Nashville District 49 sent a letter to all parents attending the school so that they had the information.

Price is facing 2 Class 4 felony charges for grooming and 2 Class A misdemeanor charges for distributing harmful material to a minor.

At this time Mr. Price has not been convicted of any of the offense, but prior to his time at Nashville Middle School, he underwent a check of criminal history and had a background check.
