WILLIAMSON COUNTY — A Marion man was recently sentenced in Williamson County Court to three years in the Illinois Department of Corrections for a 2014 unlawful drug delivery charge – a Class 2 felony – and three years in IDOC for a 2015 theft charge – a Class 3 felony.

Williamson County State’s Attorney Brandon Zanotti says 35-year-old Bernard Cole was charged for the drug offense after making a sale to a confidential informant. He was charged with the theft offense after misrepresenting himself as a landlord and fraudulently taking money from a would-be tenant. Cole was ordered to pay restitution to the victims in that case. Cole will be under two years mandatory supervised release following his release from DOC. The judge ordered the sentences to run concurrently.
