ILLINOIS (RFD) — Winter winds are picking up some steam this week and even some snow is in the forecast for some parts of Illinois. And more winter type conditions will likely return in the latter part of January says meteorologist Dan Hicks with Freese-Notis Weather.

As for the first week of January, Hicks says temperatures are running six to 12 degrees above normal across Illinois and much of the Midwest.
