Margaret L. Williams, 83, of Mount Vernon, Illinois passed away at 7:37 P.M.December 26, 2018 at SSM Good Samaritan Hospital in Mount Vernon, Illinois. She was born March 3, 1935 in Milan, Tennessee to the late Norman Williams and Linnie V. Cheshier.

Margaret is survived by her daughter, Leslie S. Williams; special son, Oscar Brown;grandchildren, Stephanie N. Wright, Talia L. Mays, Brian L. Williams and wife, Kathy, Damien L. Williams and Ariel C. Williams; great grandchildren, Shea P. Mcalinden, Liam A. Williams and Lucas A. Williams; and siblings, Genette Kirkman, Geraldine Greaves and husband, Charles, Earma Taylor and husband, Peter, and Freeman Teaberry, Jr. and wife, Brenda; and adopted brother, Jerry Taylor and wife, Betty; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Norman Williams and Linnie V. (Cheshier) Williams; son, Dwight “Lonnie” Wright; and sister, Rosie L. Rawls.

Margaret worked as a cottage director at Warren G. Murry Developmental Center in Centralia, Illinois for over thirty years. She was a member of the Lively Stone Apostolic Church in Mount Vernon. Margaret will be missed dearly by all who knew her.

A visitation will be held at 10:00 A.M. until service time on Saturday, January 12, 2018 at Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church in Mount Vernon, Illinois. The funeral service will begin at 12:00 P.M. Saturday, January 12, 2019 at Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend Ronald Johnson officiating.  Private Interment will take place at a later date at Oakwood Cemetery in Mount Vernon, Illinois.
