WHITE COUNTY — Starting Saturday, the White County Senior Citizens Center will be providing senior services for Hamilton County.

According to a news release, these services include congregate and home delivered meals, transportation through Rides Mass Transit District, telephone reassurance and assisting seniors in applying for the Benefit Access Applications (license plate sticker discount), Medicare, Medicaid and numerous other services.

Farris Family Restaurant in McLeansboro will be providing congregate senior meals in Hamilton County starting Monday. Meals will be served weekdays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. except on holidays.

Hamilton County senior citizens will also have the option of dining at the White County Senior Citizens Center in Carmi weekdays from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. excluding holidays.

The suggested donation for a congregate meal is $4. For carry-out and home delivery meals, the suggested donation is $4.25.
