HAMILTON COUNTY — Illinois State Police in Carmi has released the results from the Roadside Safety Check that took place late Saturday night into early Sunday morning on Routes 14 and 142 in Hamilton County.

Trooper did not issue any citations for DUI or other alcohol/drug citations. One person was found violating occupant restraint.

There were 11 registration offenses, two driver’s license offenses and six insurance violations.

There were eight total citations/arrests and 24 total written warnings.

Alcohol and drug impairment is a factor in more than 30 percent of all fatal motor vehicle crashes in Illinois, and throughout the U.S., nearly 10,000 people die each year due to alcohol-impaired driving.

RSCs are designed to keep our roads safe by taking dangerous DUI offenders off the road.
