MT. VERNON — The Downtown Mount Vernon Development Corporation has announced a new initiative to make downtown businesses more festive this holiday season. Through Christmas day, community members are invited to take a selfie with the elfie dolls located at participating downtown businesses. Event planners from the DMDC Merchant Committee are merrily referring to the event as “Selfie with an Elfie”

Additionally, each business is offering prizes to participants who are willing to share their selfies on the business Facebook page. Each week, one participant whose selfie was shared on the page will be chosen to win a prize from that business.
