WILLIAMSON COUNTY — A Marion man is now charged with first-degree murder in the death of his infant son last month.

Williamson County State’s Attorney Brandon Zanotti says Devin O’Daniell is being held in the Williamson County Jail on a $1 million bond.

Zanotti says the investigation into the death of Claude Aleczander Tobias O’Daniell is still ongoing. The State’s Attorney’s office is still awaiting official medical records from St. Louis. Once they are received and reviewed, other charges will be considered at that time according to Zanotti.

Devin O’Daniell was arrested and charged on Nov. 23 for domestic battery, aggravated domestic battery and aggravated battery to a child.

Around 9:40 that evening, Marion Police responded to a dispute on Meadowland Parkway in which the mother was reporting that her child had been abused.

Upon the officer’s arrival, the mother had already left to take Claude to Heartland Regional Medical Center. O’Daniell was located walking away from the area and was transported to the Marion Police Department.

Claude was transported to Cardinal-Glennon Children’s Hospital in St. Louis where he passed away a few days later.
