$250,000 Bond Set for Vernon Man Accused of Armed Home Invasion

MARION COUNTY — Bail has been set at $250,000 for a 30-year-old Vernon man charged Monday in Marion County court with two counts armed home invasion and for being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Dean Thompson remains in the Marion County Jail following his arrest Saturday for allegedly forcing his way into his ex-wife’s home the previous night while armed with a gun.

The two home invasion charges against Thompson are Class X felonies, which are punishable by 6-30 years in prison each if convicted. The weapons charge is a Class 3 felony, which is punishable by between 2 to 5 years in prison if convicted.

Thompson is also facing a misdemeanor domestic battery charge for an alleged incident involving his ex-wife earlier last week.
