ILLINOIS (RFD) — Anyone still looking for a Christmas tree? If you are there are few tips to follow to get a good one says the University of Illinois Extension. Richard Hentschel says the freshest option is to cut your own down and also look for a few types of fir trees that will stand the strongest.
If you go the pre-cut route you can still get a good tree according to Hentschel. He says tap it on the ground to shake off the dead needles and then plop the tree into a bucket of water when you get home to keep it as fresh as you can before you trim it with ornaments.
