WILLIAMSON COUNTY — Williamson County State’s Attorney Brandon Zanotti says the investigation into the recent death of a Marion infant is still ongoing and is being treated as a homicide investigation.

Zanotti said in a press release Thursday that the State’s Attorney’s office is awaiting investigation reports, evidence processing and medical records including pathology and autopsy results from out of state.

The suspect, 25-year-old Devin O’Daniell, is currently being held in the Williamson County Jail on a $1 million bond.

O’Daniell is charged with domestic battery, aggravated domestic battery and aggravated battery to a child. Three-month-old Claude Aleczander Tobias O’Daniell passed away Monday at SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital in St. Louis

Around 9:39 p.m. Friday, Marion Police responded to a dispute on Meadowland Parkway, in which a female was reporting that the infant had been abused.

Upon the officer’s arrival, the mother had already left to take the infant to Heartland Regional Medical Center. O’Daniell, the baby’s father, was located walking away from the area and was transported to the Marion Police Department.

The baby was transported to Cardinal-Glennon where he passed away shortly after 4 Monday afternoon.

Zanotti says his office has nothing further to report as this time.
