WEST FRANKFORT — The West Frankfort City Council Tuesday night approved a proposal for coverage from Arthur J. Gallaher and Company regarding property, liability and workers compensation insurance for the city starting Saturday and running through Nov. 30 of next year.

City Clerk Angie Baker Deaton says the total estimated program cost is $477,793 per year.

The council also approved an ordinance updating the policy prohibiting sexual harassment. The city will now allow 300 days to make a claim.

Leon Sailliez was appointed to the city’s Fire and Police Merit Board. He will serve for two years.

And the city will donate $1,500 from the video gaming fund to the Youth in Government program at FCHS.
