CLINTON COUNTY — The Clinton County Take Action Coalition is inviting the public to join their efforts in fighting substance abuse.

The coalition was started to help combat the opioid crisis in Clinton County and to help prevent youth from starting on the road to substance abuse.

Their goals include bringing more treatment options to Clinton County, breaking the stigma of addiction and helping those who are already in the cycle of substance abuse disorder.

Members of the coalition include social services, law enforcement, probation, high school administrators, hospital staff, and families who have lost loved ones to overdoses  individuals with lived experience

The coalition’s mission is to mobilize community leaders and develop comprehensive strategies focused on substance abuse education and prevention, law enforcement, treatment and recovery services.

The group meets at 3 p.m. the second Thursday of each month at the Ignite Church on U.S. 50 in Breese.
