WEST FRANKFORT — The Night’s Shield in West Frankfort has made some changes to its staff.

According to a press release, Dane Johns is the new Executive Director replacing Lindsey Yordy, who has accepted a position at John A. Logan College Child Resource Center in Carterville.

Johns has been with the Night’s Shield for 10 years. Johns most recently served in the role of Family Advocate for Crisis Program. During the previous nine years, he was Shift Supervisor and then Case Manager.

Lindsay Schroeder has joined the staff as the new Family and Youth Services Program Director. She brings over a decade of mental health social services experience to The Night’s Shield having previously worked at the Gateway Foundation and Centerstone as well as in child welfare.

Schroeder has a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from SIU Carbondale and a master’s in counseling from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.

The Night’s Shield is a private, non-profit organization that provides a Children’s Crisis Shelter program that serves families from all over Illinois. For more information, go to nightsshield.org.
