MARION COUNTY — A 20-year-old Centralia man was sentenced Tuesday in Marion County court to 4-years in the Illinois Department of Corrections after he pleaded guilty to theft of a motor vehicle and to violating the terms of his probation in an earlier weapons case.

John Cluck was facing charges in three separate felony cases in Marion County. In exchange for his guilty plea, two Class 3 felony charges of burglary in a 2018 case were dismissed.

He admitted to the petition to revoke his probation in a 2017 case in which he has been convicted of possessing a stolen firearm and was sentenced to 4-years in prison.

That sentence will run concurrent to another 4-year sentence handed down in a 2018 case charging him with theft of a motor vehicle.

Cluck will receive day-for-day credit and credit for time served. Judge Mark Stedelin also sentenced him to serve 2-years mandatory supervised release when he completes his prison term.
