MT. VERNON — It’s hard to believe, but Thanksgiving is coming up next week. Many residents are starting to think about what they will have with their Thanksgiving meal this year.

Deon Sharp co-owns Sharps Food Mart in Mt. Vernon. He says while turkey is the traditional meat of choice for many, Thanksgiving isn’t an exclusively turkey-filled holiday.

Sharp says while many Thanksgiving meals across the area will be similar, each family has their own unique traditions they bring to their holiday feast.
