CENTRALIA — Two people were arrested over the weekend after Centralia police arrested them on drug and weapons charges.

According to police, they arrested 34-year-old Natasha Benitez of Sandoval Saturday night for alleged armed violence, possession of methamphetamine and possession of a firearm with no valid FOID card.

They also arrested 42-year-old Christopher Taulbee of Centralia for alleged armed violence, possession of a controlled substance, and unlawful possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.

Both Benitez and Taulbee were taken to the Marion County Jail to await the formal filing of charges and setting of bail in court Tuesday.
