MARION — Veteran’s Day is Sunday and the nationwide average of suicide among our service men and woman is still at 20 per day.

Dale Horaz is the Suicide Prevention Coordinator with the Marion, IL Veteran’s Affairs Healthcare System and he says the biggest hurdle for preventing suicide is simply getting Vets, of all ages, invested in the care they need.

Someone is always available for Vets at 1-800-273-TALK or you can contact Horaz personally at dale.horaz@va.gov.

Listen to the full interview with Horaz, this Sunday on the Southern Illinois Insider Program on WMIX AM940/96.5FM and 94.1, starting at 11am.
