CENTRALIA — The final votes still haven’t been tallied in all of Tuesday’s General Election races and it’s now time to discuss the April Consolidated Election.

The City of Centralia Clerk’s Office announced Wednesday that it will be accepting nominating petitions for the 2019 Consolidated Election to be held April 2.

Up for election are the Mayor’s seat and two four-year term council member seats. If necessary, a Primary Election will be held February 26, 2019.

The filing period is from November 19, 2018 – November 26, 2018. Nominating petitions will be accepted during the normal office hours of 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. on November 19th – November 21st as well as from 7:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. November 26th, the last day of filing,
Please note that the City Clerk’s Office is closed in observance of Thanksgiving on November 22nd and 23 rd.

If necessary, a lottery to determine ballot placement will be held at 8 a.m. December 4, 2018, at City Hall on South Locust.

The lottery is held for all simultaneous filings that are filed at 7:30 a.m. on Monday, November 19, 2018, or that are received in the first mail of Monday, November 19, 2018, and for petitions filed between 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. on November 26, 2018, as well as for those petitions filed in the last hour.
