JEFFERSON COUNTY — It took until the final few precincts reported Tuesday night, but Republican candidate and Mt. Vernon Police Detective Jeff Bullard pulled off a comeback to win the Jefferson County Sheriff’s election over current Jefferson County undersheriff and Democrat Clint Taylor.

The unofficial results gave Bullard a 67-vote victory. While he says he would be for a recount of the votes, he is also ready to start serving all Jefferson County residents.
