BENTON — The former Franklin County Government Annex building on West Main in Benton has a new owner.

At a special Franklin County Board meeting Monday, board members approved the only proposal they got, and it was from Benton Dentist Jessica Stroud and her husband, Tony Martin.

Franklin County Board Chairman Randall Crocker says Stroud paid $500 for the building and has plans to possibly turn it into a dental office and offer some office rental space too.

Crocker says the Franklin County State’s Attorney’s office is preparing the deed and soon as it’s done, then the deal will be finalized.

The new owners could take possession of the building within the next week or so.
