Texas Men Involved in Semi Crash on I-57 in Marion

MARION — Two Texas men were involved in an early Thursday morning semi crash on I-57 in Marion.

Illinois State Police say around 1:50 a.m., 28-year-old Jonathan Harold Swanson of Houston, Texas was driving south on I-57 at milepost 52 when the semi encountered standing water on the road. The semi hydroplaned and traveled off the interstate and overturned.

Swanson and his passenger, 36-year-old Mark Demond Brown of Corsicana, Texas, suffered non-life threatening injuries and were taken to Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion for treatment. They were wearing seat belts.

ISP says the cause of the crash was driving too fast for conditions and improper lane usage.
