FRANKLIN COUNTY — A crash involving a car and a tractor pulling a planter happened around 6:30 Monday night on Illinois 154 in Franklin County.

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office says a Case Tractor, driven by 44-year-old Christopher M. Sullivan of Sesser, was pulling a planter westbound on 154. A car, driven by 40-year-old Jessica K. Hollis of Sesser, was also going west behind the tractor and planter.

Hollis’ car struck the planter in a rear-end type crash, due to being distracted, according to the driver. There were no injuries. Hollis was ticketed for failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash. Sullivan was ticketed for not having working taillights on the planter.

A citation for failure to reduce speed and proceed with due caution for a stationary emergency vehicle was issued to 32-year-old Joseph Lee Kempfer of Clarksville, Tennessee at the crash scene.
