JEFFERSON COUNTY — A 40-year-old Mt. Vernon man is in the Jefferson County Jail after an ongoing drug investigation led to his Monday arrest on meth-related charges.

Bail for Patrick R. Keef, was set Tuesday in Jefferson County court at $60,000 and he was formally charged with Class 1 felony unlawful delivery of between 5 and 15 grams of methamphetamine, and two Class 2 felony counts of unlawful delivery of less than 5 grams of methamphetamine.

A search warrant for Keef’s was executed Tuesday based on a joint investigation by the Mt. Vernon Police Department Narcotics Division and the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division.

Meth was reportedly found during the search and a Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputy arrested Keef for alleged unlawful delivery of a controlled substance.

During the arrest, drug proceeds were reportedly seized from Keef.

He remains in the Jefferson County Jail with a first appearance scheduled for November 20 with his court-appointed attorney.
