JEFFERSON COUNTY — A 58-year-old Ina man was sentenced Thursday in Jefferson County court to decades in prison after he was convicted earlier this year of multiple counts of sexually assaulting two young girls.

Judge Jerry Crisel convicted Anthony R. Williams in July of two Class 1 felony counts of criminal sexual assault of a family member, two Class 2 felony counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a family member, and two Class 2 felony counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a victim under the age of 13.

Court records say the alleged offenses took place in January of 2007 and then in August and October of 2016.

He was arrested on the offenses in January 2018 and has remained in the Jefferson County Jail since that time with bail set at $500,000.

According to online court records, Williams was sentenced consecutively to 15 years each on the two Class 1 felony charges, and 7-years consecutively on two of the Class 2 charges.

The other two Class 2 counts were concurrent 7-year terms each for a total of 44-years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.

We’ve reached out to the Jefferson County State’s Attorney’s Office for clarification and details of Williams’ sentence.

But prosecutors were unavailable as they’re in the midst of the child pornography jury trial of 31-year-old Nathan Hall.
