Gateway Regional Water Co. is announcing that starting November 7, the company will begin a modified disinfection process using Free Chlorine instead of Chloramines for its predominant water disinfectant.  This transition will be completed in about a week.

Customers with health issues should contact their physicians with any health-related questions.

Then beginning December 19, Gateway Regional Water Co. will switch back from Free Chlorine residual to our normal Chloramines’ residual for our predominant water disinfectant.

This transition back to chlorine and ammonia treatment will be completed in about a week.

Customers on Gateway Regional Water Company are: Village of Alma; Clay County Water; Village of Farina; Fayette Water Company; City of Flora; FMC Water Co.; Village of Iuka; City of Kinmundy; NEMC Water Co.; Village of Patoka; Raccoon Water Co.; Village of Vernon; Western Wayne Water Co.; and Village of Xenia.
