Denny Clark, 59, of Mount Vernon, Illinois passed away at 4:30 A.M.October 28, 2018 at his residence in Mount Vernon, Illinois. He was born March 8, 1959 in Fairfield, Illinois to J.J. Clark and Phyllis Garner. He married Cindy (Dickey) Clark on August 25, 1979 at Wayne City Baptist Church in Wayne City, Illinois. They were blessed with 39 years of marriage until he preceded her in death.

In addition to his wife, Denny is survived by his mother, Phyllis Clark of Wayne City, Illinois; sons, Aaron Clark of Mount Vernon, Illinois, and Alex Clark and wife, Julie of Saint Louis, Missouri; daughter, Jessi Clark of Nashville, Tennessee; brother, Monty Clark and wife, Becky of Mount Vernon, Illinois; several nieces and nephews; and mother-in-law, Dorothy Dickey of Sims, Illinois.

Denny Clark was preceded in death by his father, J.J. Clark; and father-in-law, Verl Dickey.

Denny worked at Continental Tire for 34 years. He loved baseball and coached at Rome Grade School in Dix for many years. In 2015, the baseball field was named Clark Field in his honor. Denny also coached baseball at Mount Vernon High School for several years. In addition, he served as Site Director of Jefferson County Sports Authority for over a decade. He was passionate about the Jason Motte Foundation and had worked selflessly as a volunteer to help strike out cancer.

Sanders Memorial Chapel at Thomason Cemetery in Wayne City, Illinois with the Funeral Service following at 11:00 A.M. with Mr. Jerry Wilson officiating.  Interment: Thomason Cemetery in Wayne City, Illinois.
