FRANKLIN COUNTY — Two people were arrested by Franklin County Sheriff’s deputies Friday night as deputies were investigating a series of thefts that have been
occurring in Valier and were also attempting to local an individual wanted on a warrant.

Sheriff Don Jones says a search of the home was done using K-9 Diego. The wanted subject, 41-year-old Shawn P. Zook of Macedonia, was found by the K-9 hiding in a false wall behind a water heater in the bathroom of the home.

Zook was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failure to appear on a charge of leaving the scene of a crash involving personal injury. He is also now charged with obstructing justice according to the sheriff.

Also arrested for obstructing justice was 34-year-old Ryan A. Karabec of Du Quoin.
The sheriff says more arrests and charges are anticipated.
