CENTRALIA — Centralia police arrested a 46-year-old man Tuesday morning for alleged criminal trespass to a home on South Elm Street.

According to police, they responded to an alarm call for the home at 221 South Elm Street and found a door to the home was open.

After contacting the owners of the home and confirming that no one should be inside, officers entered the residence and found James Garner, of Centralia, inside. He was taken into custody for alleged criminal trespass.

Officers completed a search of the large home, that used to be the House of Kai, and found no one else inside.

The homeowners, who were at work at the time, confirmed with police that Garner did not have permission to be in the home and he was transported to the Marion County Jail.
