CARRIER MILLS –An electronics recycling and disposal event is set for Saturday from 9 a.m. until noon or until the trailer is full at the Carrier Mills Municipal Building parking lot on North Mill Street.

A recycler will be on site collecting anything you can plug in and no longer works or just don’t want anymore. No longer can you throw electronics away. They can’t be taken to a landfill.

Console TVs and big screen TVs are $10 to recycle. Small screen TVs, computer monitors and small flat screens will cost $5 to be recycled.

Due to recycling costs, the following items are no longer accepted for free: vacuums, microwaves, printers, DVRs, VCRs and copiers now cost $1 to be recycled.

This event is not limited to Carrier Mills residents. Anyone from the area may bring items so electronics or batteries are disposed of properly. Tires and paint are no longer accepted.
