BENTON — The Benton City Council approved the motor fuel tax compliance review report at Monday night’s meeting.

According to City Clerk Brook Craig, the report shows that IDOT has reviewed the books and records in so far as they pertain to the receipt and disbursement of the Motor Fuel Tax Fund of the City of Benton per the period of Jan. 1, 2013 through Dec. 31, 2017 and that all entries for receipts in these books and records are true and correct and are in agreement with the records maintained by the DOT.

In other news, the council approved drafting a letter on behalf of the airport board recommending the approval of the whip style antenna to be placed atop the West City water tower. The council also tabled the IDOT Disadvantaged Business Enterprise certification process until the city can speak with its engineer.
