Anna Woman Sentenced to Prison for Aggravated DUI

COBDEN — An Anna woman has been sentenced to three years in the Illinois Department of Corrections for aggravated DUI.

Union County State’s Attorney Tyler Edmonds announced Tuesday that 54-year-old Jeannie Lerita Hudspeth was sentenced after pleading guilty to one county of aggravated driving while under the influence, a Class 2 felony. Hudspeth will also serve a two-year period of mandatory supervised release.

Hudspeth was arrested in January 2017 following a traffic stop by Cobden Police. The charge was elevated to a felony based on prior DUI convictions.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant State’s Attorney Lisa Casper.
