Rauner Continues Call for Death Penalty

ILLINOIS (RFD) — After a ceremony to retire the badge of a fallen Chicago Police Officer Governor Bruce Rauner called for the death penalty to be reinstated in Illinois. The Republican wants convicted criminals in certain cases to be eligible for capital punishment. One crime that could result in the death penalty – killing a law enforcement officer.

The service was for Paul Bauer who was shot and killed during a foot chase near the Thompson Center in Chicago.
